Who we are

We’re a group working together to reduce substance use, misuse, and abuse.

302 Cares is a group of individuals and organizations who work together for the common goal of reducing substance use, misuse, and abuse among youth and adults in Wells River and surrounding towns.

In November of 2016, a town meeting was held in Wells River to address the growing substance use in the area.  This led to the formation of the Wells River Action Program Prevention Committee which became 302 Cares. This was spearheaded by our founding member Don Waterman.

Our coalition represents many sectors of our community: parents; students; schools, civic and volunteer organizations, youth-serving organizations, law enforcement, government, business, faith organizations, health care organizations, media, and other organizations that address substance use/abuse.

Don was actively involved in his community, serving as a Wells River Village Trustee, President, and member of the Wells River Action Program (WRAP). His passion to serve his community help start 302 Cares
